Day 1: Setting Sail on a New Chapter

The day finally arrived — the beginning of our three-month world cruise adventure! The car was packed to the brim, filled with everything we’ll need (and probably a few things we won’t) for this incredible journey ahead. There was a buzz of excitement and a touch of emotion as the family gathered to see us off — hugs, laughter, a few tears, and that unmistakable feeling of stepping into something new and wonderful.

Our first leg took us from home to Málaga, ready to catch our flight to Barcelona. Even the drive felt symbolic — leaving behind the familiar, crossing into the space of possibility.

When we arrived in Barcelona, our transfer whisked us away to the beautiful Nobu Hotel, our home for the night. After settling in and catching our breath, we attended the pre-cruise meet and greet — an evening of introductions and anticipation with the other passengers embarking on the full three-month voyage. There are just 30 of us doing the entire cruise, and already it feels like a little floating family forming. With beautiful, food, drinks and entertainment, what a lovely start to our journey.

As the evening drew to a close, Joe and I turned in early, hearts full and minds brimming with excitement. Tomorrow, we board the ship and begin this grand adventure — three months of discovery, reflection, and joy across the world’s oceans.

Daily Reflection:

Today I celebrate the courage to begin.
I honour the mix of excitement and tenderness that comes with change.
Every journey begins with a single brave step — and I’ve taken mine.

Highlight of the Day:
Seeing the family gathered to wave us off — their love travelling with us into this new adventure.
