Day 15 - Finding Flow Beneath the Clouds
The day began with a soft rain, the kind that seems to merge gently with the sea. It gave everything a silvery calmness, and for a while, the world felt hushed. But as the morning unfolded, the sun began to break through the clouds, turning the deck golden once again — a reminder that light always finds its way through.
I started my morning with a session in the gym, feeling energised and ready for the day. Afterwards, I made my way to the pool deck to enjoy my favourite veggie juice, along with a handful of fruit and nuts, while catching up on morning messages and watching the waves roll by. There’s something so peaceful about these moments — small rituals that make each day feel grounded and intentional.
Back in our suite, I showered and got ready to begin the day properly. Joe, on the other hand, hadn’t had the best night’s sleep, so he took the morning to rest and catch up on sleep — something that’s definitely easier to do when the ship rocks so gently beneath you.
Feeling lucky, I decided to try my hand at bingo again — and this time, luck was on my side! I won the freebie game, and my prize was a lovely Regent keychain — a small but cheerful memento of the day.
Afterwards, I settled into my familiar rhythm with the daily crossword and sudoku, accompanied by a mid-morning coffee in one of my favourite quiet corners. These simple pleasures have become such a comforting part of my sea-day routine.
At lunchtime, I met Joe at the Compass Rose, where we enjoyed another wonderful meal — always perfectly prepared and beautifully served. The afternoon unfolded slowly, as I spent time on our balcony, soaking up the sunshine and the sound of the waves, deeply content.
While reading my book, I came across a passage about flow that really resonated with me — a reminder of how, when we surrender to life’s rhythm, things unfold with such natural ease. It felt especially fitting as the ship glided so effortlessly across the sea.
Later in the afternoon, Joe headed off for his personal training session, followed by a well-deserved massage, while I attended the pre-dinner show by our Cruise Director, Ray Solaire. It was, quite simply, spectacular. Ray has a rich, beautiful voice and incredible puppetry skills. He began with Unchained Melody from Ghost, followed by a brilliantly fun Elvis puppet performance, and ended with a powerful Les Misérables finale. It was mesmerising — a performance filled with warmth, humour, and heart.
Afterwards, I met Joe, and we went to Sette Mari, the ship’s Italian restaurant, for another delicious dinner. We ended the evening listening to the Regent team performing Abba songs, which was so much fun — a joyful, feel-good way to round off a truly lovely day.
