Day 25 - The Final Sea Day Before Cape Town: Rocking Seas & Remarkable Talent


Today marked our last sea day of this leg of the cruise. There’s a noticeable shift in atmosphere as we approach Cape Town — with many guests preparing to disembark and new guests soon to join us. The ship feels both full of anticipation and tinged with the soft emotion of goodbyes.

As always, I began my morning with my gym session followed by my refreshing veggie juice — a grounding ritual that helps set the tone for the day. There was a full schedule of activities on board, as is tradition on the final sea day, but Joe and I decided to keep things quiet and relaxed.



The seas were very choppy, and the morning air was cool and crisp. But by afternoon, the sun shone brightly, lighting up the waves in shimmering silver. The movement of the ship, however, told its own story — we learned that a storm was following us, so the Captain had decided to “step on it,” resulting in a very, very rocky evening. It was a challenge at times just to keep one’s balance!

We enjoyed lunch in Compass Rose, spending the afternoon tucked away indoors, relaxing, reading, and simply letting the hours drift by.

Before dinner, I attended the pre-dinner cabaret, led by the brilliant Assistant Cruise Director Amelia, who sang beautifully. Following her, the cruise choir made up from guests, performed — a wonderfully heartfelt moment. They’ve been expertly guided by Wyatt and Amelia, and the joy and confidence in their voices made the whole room glow with appreciation.

Meanwhile, Joe watched a bit of football, though the less said about Spurs today, the better… almost as disappointing as the first test of the Ashes, he commented with a dramatic sigh!

We returned to Compass Rose for dinner, enjoying another lovely meal amidst the ship’s theatrical swaying.

Afterwards, Joe headed for an early night, while I went to watch Nik Page perform his show — and what a performance it was. I truly don’t think I’ve ever heard anyone with such power, range, and presence. His voice filled the theatre to its edges; his emotion carried every note; his charisma held the room spellbound. It was, without question, one of the highlights of the entire cruise so far.

Later, I caught up on a few calls and began browsing the options for excursions at our upcoming ports. Some truly exciting adventures await us — new landscapes, new stories, and new memories ready to unfold as we continue our incredible journey.


Daily Reflection:

The end of one chapter always carries a mix of gratitude and anticipation.
Today reminded me to savour transitions — they are the bridge between where we’ve been and where we’re going next.

The day began in a haze — quite literally. Day 5 - A Day Without Wi-Fi: Casablanca Adventures and Serendipity at Sea

  Another beautiful morning greeted us as we sailed into Casablanca — sunlight glinting off the water as we arrived into the port. There was an immediate sense of arrival in a city filled with colour, culture, and history. But as we soon discovered, Casablanca had a little surprise in store for us. Because it’s a naval port , all Wi-Fi was cut as soon as we docked — and it stayed that way for many hours, long after we had left the harbour. At first, the silence felt strange, a sudden digital stillness in our usually connected world. But as the hours passed, it began to feel… refreshing. A day without Wi-Fi turned out to be a quiet gift — unless, of course, you’re Joe! Joe had to head into town to collect the medicines that were missing from our luggage. Day 3 - Our First Day at Sea: Finding Our Rhythm

  There’s something magical about waking to the gentle movement of the ocean. This morning, I slipped out onto the deck just as the sun began to rise — soft hues of pink and gold spilling across the sky. The ship was quiet except for the sound of the waves, and it felt like the perfect setting for a mindful start to the day. I walked the deck, breathing in the salty air and feeling gratitude wash over me with each step. After my morning walk, I found a quiet spot for meditation and my daily EFT tapping session — a grounding way to tune into the energy of the sea and the peace of the moment. Afterwards, I treated myself to a blissful morning in the spa — a pampering start that left me feeling completely relaxed and radiant. Meanwhile, Joe enjoyed a lazy, leisurely morning in our suite catching up on his broken nights sleep.
