Day 9 - A Week at Sea: Slow Living and Soft Horizons

Today marks our first full week aboard the Navigator — and what a wonderful week it has been. Time is beginning to feel fluid, unhurried, and expansive, like the ocean itself. It’s hard to believe we still have another eleven weeks to go, each one holding the promise of new experiences, people, and places.

The clocks went back another hour last night, so sunrise came early, bathing the ship in a golden glow. The early light shimmered across the water, and everything felt calm and alive.

It was a lazy, restorative day for both of us — the kind that feels like a deep exhale. I started the morning by posting my daily EFT tapping script for my group — a ritual that always brings me joy and connection. Then it was time for the gym, before heading to the pool deck for breakfast.

Breakfast was light and refreshing — a fresh juice made from beetroot, carrot, spinach, and pineapple, perfectly paired with a handful of nuts and some fresh fruit. There’s something truly satisfying about starting the day with nourishment that feels both wholesome and energising.

Meanwhile, Joe took himself off to buy some sunscreen, then settled into his favourite spot by the pool, soaking up the sunshine and enjoying a well-earned bit of rest and relaxation.

Later, I went for a stroll around the deck, enjoying the sea air and gentle rhythm of the waves, before attending a talk by the Cruise Consultant, who shared details about future voyages and upcoming adventures with Regent. It was inspiring to listen and imagine where the next journeys might lead.

The late morning was spent quietly with a bit of crossword and sudoku — simple, mindful pleasures that fit perfectly with sea-day life. The afternoon continued in that same tranquil rhythm. I finally logged back into my Manifesting course, catching up on lessons I’ve been meaning to revisit — it felt lovely to reconnect with that creative, intentional energy.

In the early evening, we attended the Shabbat service, a grounding and reflective way to close the week and enter the weekend. Afterwards, we enjoyed a delicious dinner at the Compass Rose, where every meal seems to be served with the same warmth and attention to detail that makes this ship feel so special.

The perfect end to the evening came in the form of a lively and heartfelt Elton John tribute show by the talented duo This One’s For You. Their energy, musicianship, and charm had the whole audience smiling and singing along.

It’s been a day of ease, laughter, and gentle gratitude — a lovely pause before tomorrow’s adventure. Tomorrow we arrive in Cape Verde, where we’re looking forward to our island tour and discovering a whole new world of beauty and culture.

Daily Reflection:

One week at sea, and I am learning the art of slowing down.
Life unfolds effortlessly when I allow it — just like the waves that carry us onward.

Highlight of the Day:
The Elton John tribute show — joyful, nostalgic, and the perfect finale to our first week on board.
