Day 75 - Between Storms & New Shores

Today was a sea day, sailing from Indonesia toward Australia via the Timor Sea. After last night’s dramatic storms, we woke to a beautifully sunny and warm morning—the kind that instantly lifts your spirits, just perfect to sit out on our balcony with a cup of coffee watching the sunrise.

I headed to the gym, and thankfully it was much quieter, which made it feel grounding to slip back into my familiar routine. Afterwards, I settled on the pool deck with my veggie juice, soaking up the calm and warmth—simple pleasures that never get old.

After showering, I went to Skip’s talk on Darwin, which made Australia feel suddenly very real. Tomorrow we’ll actually arrive—after all these months of talking about it and the long journey to get here. It feels like a pinch-me moment, mixed with the bittersweet realisation that we only have ten days left on the ship. We truly aren’t ready to think about getting off for good.

I then sat in on Svet’s presentation about upcoming Regent cruises for 2026–2028 across the fleet—dangerous information for dreamers like us! After that, it was coffee and crossword time, one of my favourite little rituals.

Because we’d lost an hour overnight, Joe had a leisurely morning. He later headed to the pool deck, listening to his audiobook and enjoying the sun, before expertly securing us an outside table at La Verandah for lunch—always a win.

The afternoon was gently productive: I recorded some EFT scripts and completed my daily Mindvalley learning, while Joe enjoyed a well-earned snooze—waking, of course, perfectly refreshed and ready for his beloved trivia quiz. His team came second today. I’m convinced we’ll need to organise a charity trivia night for GibSams/GibSilver when we’re back in Gibraltar so he doesn’t lose his edge! I know we have some pretty amazing sunsets at home, but I will miss sitting on the balcony watching the sunset.

We got ready for dinner at Compass Rose, then headed to the evening show—a Buddy Holly tribute by Scot Robin. He was hugely popular with the audience. Joe was slightly disappointed that a couple of his favourite songs didn’t make the set, but perhaps Scot will return for an encore another night.

Tonight, we lose another 30 minutes, so it’s an earlier night and a gentle wind-down as we prepare for a very special arrival tomorrow.

✨ Daily Reflection

There’s something uniquely grounding about sea days—the way they allow space for anticipation, gratitude, and a little melancholy all at once. Standing on the edge of Australia feels monumental… and knowing our time aboard is shortening makes each moment feel even more precious.
